The Bremen Viertel was founded in the 19th century – a small popular district which has become an active social neighborhood over the years. Today it is known for its alternative scene. The  Sielwallkreuzung, (an intersection in the middle of the district) next to the red light district, developed in the 1980s at the end of the Bremen drug scene, into being a cultural focal point of the city. The cityscape has changed in recent years with gentrification, but the district has continued to be enriched with the opening of designer boutiques, trendy bars, and other human infrastructure that contribute to the aliveness of the area.

With my ‘HB night’ project I wanted to capture the youth culture in this Neighborhood all in one night. Since I have been capturing nights in Bremen for some time, I have made this my subject: my short film shows the events of a night in a shadowy way. I used only an iPhone, as otherwise I would not have been able to film in many of the locations.
